Terms of Service

These terms set out the agreement between you and 8t20 Capital LLC ("Twelva", "we", "us", "our") when you use the Twelva mobile app and the twelva.app website. By using Twelva you agree to these terms. Read them carefully.

1. Who can use Twelva

Twelva is intended for adults in recovery. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app, and at least the age of majority where you live to enter into a paid subscription. If you do not meet these requirements, please do not use Twelva.

2. What Twelva is — and what it isn't

Twelva is a private companion for the slow work of recovery. It offers daily reflections, breathing tools, mood and HALT check-ins, journaling, sobriety-streak tracking, and an AI-powered sponsor companion. It supports many recovery paths — 12-step, SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery, Al-Anon, CBT-informed, and self-guided.

Twelva is not a medical device, therapy, treatment, or a substitute for professional care. Nothing in the app diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents any disease or condition. If you need medical, psychiatric, or emergency help, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Crisis resources are available inside the app under the SOS tab.

3. Sponsor chat & AI-generated content

The sponsor companion is an AI feature. Replies are generated by a large language model (currently Anthropic Claude, routed through FastRouter) and may be incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. Treat sponsor-chat replies as supportive peer reflection — not as advice from a sponsor, counselor, doctor, or other licensed professional.

Do not share information you would not want a vendor to process to generate a reply. Do not rely on the sponsor companion in moments of crisis — call 988 (US) or your local emergency line.

4. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

Twelva offers two paid plans: Twelva Pro Monthly and Twelva Pro Yearly. Both unlock the full reflection library, the sponsor companion, and unlimited journal sync. New subscribers in eligible regions get a 7-day free trial on either plan.

Your subscription is sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on where you bought it. Payment, renewal, refunds, and cancellation are handled by them, governed by their terms:

Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Free trials convert into paid subscriptions automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends. We do not have access to your payment information or the ability to issue refunds — please request refunds through the store you purchased from.

5. Your account and data

You can use Twelva without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, an account is created so you can sync your data across devices. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. For details on what we collect and how we use it, see our Privacy Policy.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, or via our account deletion page.

6. Acceptable use

Twelva is built for personal recovery use. You agree not to:

7. Content you create

Your reflections, journal entries, mood data, sponsor chats, and other content remain yours. We claim no ownership over what you write. By using Twelva, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the app's features (e.g. cloud sync, sponsor-chat replies). This license ends when you delete your data.

8. Twelva's content

The reflection library, daily prompts, breathing exercises, design, and brand are owned by 8t20 Capital LLC. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use them within the Twelva app for your own recovery. You may not reproduce or republish them without permission.

9. Disclaimers

Twelva is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated replies will be accurate or appropriate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 8t20 Capital LLC and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Twelva — including loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions. In those places, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

11. Termination

You can stop using Twelva at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the app in a way that puts other users, our vendors, or us at risk. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of Twelva after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
